Parker McCollum used to live in my friend's apartment building in Austin many years ago, and we were always secretly hoping we would run into him in the lobby or coffee shop. Although he wasn't a big name in the Country Music Genre yet, he has been in embraced in Texas country for years. A Native Texan, he grew up outside Houston, working on his Grandfather's ranch. "My favorite thing about really good songwriting can still prevail on Country Radio. You can still make it big in Country Music without singing the pop side of things," Parker McCollum.
