Parker McCollum brings Hollywood Gold
Parker McCollum released his new EP today, Hollywood Gold, with six new songs, including his top of the charts single "Pretty Heart" and "Young Man Blues."
Parker still writes and performs his songs, which is a rarity in Country Music these days. "My favorite thing about Country Music is that really good songwriting can still prevail on Country Radio. You can still make it big in Country Music without singing the pop side of things," said Parker. Parker himself co-wrote five of the tracks on the new album. Chris Stapleton and big Al Anderson penned one.
Parker has gained an enormous following in the Texas music and is seamlessly melding that with the Nashville Mainstream Country sound. He is a Texan at heart, growing up outside Houston, and currently residing in Austin. His grandpa was a Cowboy, and he grew up in the summers working on his Grandfather's ranches and developing the work ethic and love for country music that has helped him become the artist he is today. He avoids the cliche stereotype country sounds and lyrics and instead brings honest, confessional, relatable, and real songs to share with his audiences. His voice and his musical talent top that off making him an artist that stands out from the rest.
I have been a fan for many years after having a friend in Austin turn me on to his music. I can not wait to see what this album does for his career.
