RED ROCKS

1- Red Rocks

As one of the most famous and well-known concert venues in the United States, this is my first choice if you are looking for a venue in Colorado. Its unique location between the Great Plains and the Rocky Mountains makes it geographically one of a kind. The two gigantic boulders were always there as if the venue was made to be. It has hosted everyone from the Beatles to the U2 and seems to be on everyone's bucket list.

Built in 1936, during the Great Depression, workers would remove 50,000 square feet of rock and dirt to create the slope and seating for the venue.

Today its elevation is 6,450 feet. It seats 9,525 people and has a 100 feet elevation gain from the stage to the top row.

Recommendations for visiting. Red Rocks

Wear comfortable shoes

There are 380 steps from the parking lots to the top of the steps. There is a reason many of Colorado's top athletes can be found here on weekend mornings running the steps and the 2.5 miles of rows in between.

Bring a blanket

The seating is long rows of stone, labeled with numbers, but that tends to get chilly, and the blanket is a good reminder of where your seats are since the crowd seems to move while dancing.

Dress in layers

The weather changes quickly, and it can go from hot to cold in minutes. Layers are always a good Idea in Colorado but especially in the fall.

Make sure you go all the way to the top to see not only the stage but the whole city of Denver lit up at night. The view, along with the acoustics, history, and natural setting, makes it an unforgettable evening.
