For Chad Wilson, music is in his blood. He is the fourth generation of musicians and entertainers in his family. Growing up in Tallapoosa County in Alabama, he started singing with his grandparent's Southern Gospel Quartet at the age of four. His mother taught him to play the piano at the age of five. His uncle taught him the drums at nine and his grandpa the guitar at thirteen.
Along the way, he harnessed an ability to write deep and meaningful songs, gaining him many awards, including top 10 national songwriter recognition by Taylor Guitars and HoriPro Entertainment Group. He has also written songs for over forty Country Music Artists. He has won two Nashville Industry Music Awards. Between his songwriting authenticity, his voice, and his stage presence he captivates live audiences.
Having recently decided to take a break from the band he had formed with his brother, The Wilson Brothers Band, he is approaching music with a new headspace and way of thinking. "I try not to take the process for granted. I think in our results-driven and this "right now" society that we have become, it's easy to get caught up in the outcome... how many downloads did we have yesterday...how many new followers did the campaign gain, kind of thing. What I've learned is to trust the ones around me making these decisions and giving me the chance to enjoy and celebrate each little goal that we accomplish. So my approach is different because my mindset is different. There is a lot of freedom to be found once you remove superficial expectations that we tend to put on ourselves."
Wilson describes his type of Country as “Truth” country. “It doesn’t pander to an age group, it doesn’t exploit a certain demographic, and most importantly, it isn’t created with restrictions or limitations. From one song to the next, my songs come from my experiences. “
You can find him finishing out 2021 on the road acoustically with stops in Dallas, Alabama, Idaho, New Hampshire, Florida, and Chicago. "I love nothing better than to sit on a stage with just my acoustic guitar and tell the stories of my songs."
