Birds Nest at the Phoenix Open

When I saw the lineup for the concerts at the Birds Nest I knew I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see two of my favorite bands, Midland and Old Dominion perform on the same day, as well as Jake Owen, Lee Brice, Michael Ray the following day. I didn't have high expectations for the venue because it looked like a tent outside of a golf tournament but I was very pleasantly surprised! The Birds Nest is a great venue and is very well run. Before you even enter the tents where the concert is, there is an outdoor/indoor bar with rooftop seating, many places to take photos, some merchandise, food stands, and beer stands. When you enter, you can go to the right for VIP which includes free alcohol and free food and elevated standing room, or to the left for VIP Pit. VIP Pit is pricey but its nice because you are the only one with access to the stage and all your drinks are covered and it is not packed. I did not do general admission on this trip, but it looked fun. I hope they have this great of the lineup again next year because I could see this becoming an annual tradition!
