Seven Peaks Festival
This was year two of Dierks Bentley's three day festival in Buena Vista Colorado, and it keeps getting better. This year I paid for the tents that were already set up and on festival grounds, provided by Solid Ground Shelters. They put the glamp in camp. It takes the hassle out of camping, with a tent, bed, electricity and a table set up for you when you arrive. There were two options, one with four cots, a small fan, and a table and another with a queen-size bed, fan, table, and two chairs. The bathrooms were the trailer kind of porta-potties, and the showers were in a trailer as well, but it always had hot water and was perfect for camping. If you go this way, I would recommend bringing your pillows and sleeping bags, it does get cold at night, even with the bedding that they provide. Lots of our neighbors brought grills and barbequed, and you are allowed to bring in coolers so that will save you a fortune on beer.
The real tent camping and RV camping looked fun as well. The year before I did an Air b&b and felt like I missed out on the best parts which you get while staying on the festival ground.
The mornings were pretty quiet, but every day around three Dierk's awesome DJ, AyDamn would come to the lake on festival grounds and have a pool party. It reminded me of a Vegas pool party, except in the mountains with bring your own beer. Coleman provided shade and chairs, and everyone brought their floaties and coolers. So remember to pack those! There was also a stand for food and necessities if you needed it. It was one of the highlights of the weekend.
The first night was 90's night, and I was shocked at how many people showed up in full costume. It was a blast and the concert ended with Dierks Bentley’s 90’s cover band performing. They are hilarious. Day two was a pool party, and an impressive lineup at the festival including Marin Morris, Mitchell Tenpenny and ending in Luke Bryan.
The third day was another fun pool party, and then another great line up ending with John Pardi and Dierks.
I loved watching Dierks roam around the festival, and the other artists looked like they were having the time of there life and let loose at this festival. I think it will only get bigger and better and he has captured the Colorado mountain spirit, which you don't get with the venues in Denver.
At the festival itself, it had a fair amount of food options, lots of beer options, a Bacardi tent, and a Jack tent. The drinks are expensive!

Lessons Learned:
-If you are camping, bring extra sleeping bags, long johns, sweats, etc. It gets cold at night.
-Bring a floaty for the pool party and a small cooler and chairs
-Pack your snacks/alcohol, to save a bunch of money and to enjoy while you are camping.
-Dress in layers, it goes from really hot to cold very fast. Bikinis and beanies.
-Traffic getting in and out of Buena Vista and the mountains in general over Labor Day is horrible. If you can find a place to stay till Tuesday morning, I would recommend it. Otherwise, get up early Monday to leave or wait till late in the evening. Driving from Buena Vista to Denver took over 3 hours on Monday and same on the way there on Friday evening.
-The VIP is great but has no stage access, which is my only complaint. Can’t wait for next year!
